OVER 80,000 euro has been raised for the oncology unit at Tullamore regional hospital by the Tullamore Tractor Run Committee over the past number of years.
The group continue their fund-raising endeavours this Christmas when the fourth annual tractor run takes place on Wednesday next, December 28th next.
The run, which is sponsored by Scally's and Leavy's Centra, starts at 9.00 am at the old Jennings Truck Centre on the Arden Road.
All the drivers taking part will be treated to a hearty breakfast, courtesy of Centra, before they set out on their travels.
The run will journey through Clara and onto Pullough where there will be a stop for refreshments at the Pull Inn. It then travels back into Tullamore through Rahan and participants will then congregate in the Old Harbour Bar.
At the bar a tug of war will take place on the street outside while patrons will also enjoy refreshments and live music.
The long awaited draw for the restored Massey Ferguson 35 will also be held on the night.
Organisers of the draw would like to thank George Gill and Freda Kinnarney of Tullamore Show for allowing them to sell tickets on show day at the Butterfield Estate last August.
