MIDLAND Drama Schools' student Sarah White has landed a leading role as Sinead Moone in a new Irish Comedy Series 'Moone Boy' on Sky 1 .
It is a six-part comedy series by Chris O'Dowd and Nick Murphy and the director is Declan Lowney .
The series is set in Co. Roscommon and Chris O'Dowd (who stared in the popular movie Bridesmaids and The IT Crowd) will be playing the lead as the imaginery friend of Martin Moone, the youngest member of the Moone family.
The comedy series is about a large family in a small, picturesque, but slightly depressed market town called Boyle.
The first series is set in 1989/1990 and the Moone Family live in a cramped house that's far too small for them.
It's a loud, lively, chaotic, messy (and very typical) household where the parents and children are all pursuing very different lifestyles, all pulling in different directions.
Sarah White has been training and attending classes with Midland Drama Schools for the past number of years, She is just 13yrs old and comes from Mountbolus.
Sarah is daughter of Marguerite and Damien White and has one sister, Emily and a brother, Liam. The family is overwhelmed by this amazing opportunity for Sarah.
Sarah's drama teacher, Lorraine Wynne (Director of Midland Drama Schools) said 'this Irish comedy series is an incredible opportunity for Sarah, I have been approached by the film casting director to forward my students for auditions which I have and many of them have been recalled out of hundreds that were auditioned throughout the country. '
She added: 'So far it is Sarah that has been chosen after three rounds which was a challenging and tough audition process.'
Sarah has achieved first class honours in Drama and Speech. To date she has featured on children's programmes on RTE 2.
'She is a very confident young lady, has a fabulous personality and is very focused on her career,'; commented Lorraine Wynne.
'She hopes to become as successful as Saoirse Ronan. We are very excited for Sarah as this series will open many doors for her we are very proud indeed,' said Lorraine.
