Knife Raid On Daingean Shop

GARDAI are investigating a raid on a shop in Daingean on Friday December 23rd.
At 6.45pm two males entered the Centra shop on Main Street and threatened staff. The two men were wearing balaclavas, one was carrying a knife and the other a hammer.
They got away with a small amount of cash and fled the scene in a vehicle driving in the Tyrellspass direction.
Gardai pursued the car but the suspects made good their escape.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in Rochfordbridge and is being technically examined.
Gardai are appealing for information in relation to the incident and anyone who can help in any way is asked to ring Daingean gardai on 05793 53042.
