IT'S estimated that over one thousand people turned out in Clara for the 'Scare in the Square' on Halloween night.

Cllr Dervill Dolan, chairman of the organising committee, said he was thrilled with the response from everyone in the community.

''The kids made a huge effort dressing up for the fun event which was held in the church car park. The event featured entertainment by the Clara Town Swing Band. Special guests on the night included The Beatles, Joe Dolan and Neil Diamond who entertain the adults with The Hulk, Superman, Ironman, Ghostbusters, Dracula, the Hocus Pocus Witches, Paw Patrol, the Minions and many more characters to entertain the kids,'' said Cllr Dolan.

The highlight of the night concluded with a Thriller Zombies flashmob dance of adults and kids and by the end of the dance all the kids joined in and the car park was rocking,'' he added.

Cllr Dolan thanked all the children and adults who took part and all who gave of their time to make the the night such a success.
