In January of this year, Tullamore native, Paul Moore left behind a 30 year career in finance to pursue his dream of becoming a professional photographer.  Since then he has been working hard to carve out a new career in this competitive field. 

Paul’s introduction to photography began approximately 10 years ago when he started to take photos with his iPhone.  Soon after that he began to build an international reputation in the world of mobile photography with his photos appearing in exhibitions around the world while also picking many accolades in mobile photography competitions.  His mobile photos have been used on book covers across the publishing world, including New York Times Best Sellers.

Around 5 year’s ago Paul decided to upgrade his skill set by moving into the world of DSLR photography.  Since then he has been diligently learning about all aspects of photography and honing his skills.  Also during this time he worked on a number of projects that helped him to understand the challenges that he would face in the world of professional photography.

Since turning professional at the start of the year Paul has worked on a wide variety of diverse projects.  From corporate events to family portrait sessions with several niche speciality projects along the way.  His clients have included tourism groups, hotels, construction firms, estate agents, a school of hair and makeup and many privately commissioned shoots.  He continues to have his work featured on book covers around the world.  And his work has also been used in advertising and promotional material.  He also sells fine are prints of his work and produces Christmas Cards featuring local scenes.

Another area of photography that Paul is involved in is training.  He gives workshops all over the country on all aspects of photography and editing.  A lot of his workshops concentrate on story telling through photography.  He has numerous workshops already lined up over the course of the summer:-

June 16th - Dublin Photography School - 3 Hour Workshop on mobile photography and editing
June 23rd - Tullamore Library - Criunniu na nÓg - Storytelling Through Photography Workshop
June 30th - Hushabye Farm in Killeigh - 3 Hour workshop including photowalk with Alpacas.
August 21st - Tullamore Library - Heritage Week - Storytelling Through Photography Workshop
August 22nd - Birr Library - Heritage Week - Storytelling Through Photography Workshop
August 24th - Cootehill Arts Festival - 2 Workshops and photowalks cover photography and editing.

Having grown up in a creative household Paul is delighted to finally be able follow in the footsteps of his father, who is a music teacher, and his graphic designer brother who designed the logo for his new business.
