Coolraine seeks players as 40th anniversary approaches

Thursday, 12 July 2018

COOLRAINE FC, which will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its foundation this year, is seeking players for the new season.
Founded in 1978, Coolraine is gearing up for another year in junior soccer with training at 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the club ground in Durrow.
Former player Paul Kelly will be the manager this season with James Mahon as his assistant. Kelly took the reins at the club during last season and Coolraine finished mid-table in CCFL Division One.
Coolraine are hoping to put in a strong push for silverware this year with their 40th birthday approaching.
They expect to mark the anniversary with a celebration night in October. Among the many people closely associated with the club over the years is John Minnock, the Tullamore man who played in the UEFA Cup against AC Milan for Athlone Town.
Minnock had a spell as Coolraine manager in the Leinster Junior League when his playing days were over.
