No car parking for Tullamore College staff raised at LOETB meeting

Thursday, 19 July 2018

THE lack of car parking for the staff of Tullamore College was highlighted at a recent meeting of Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB).
Board member, Molly Buckley outlined how there was "still no car parking spaces for the staff of Tullamore College". "It's very difficult for them particularly on the wet days," she explained. She then asked if there was anything the LOETB could do to "speed up the process" of providing a car park at the newly revamped secondary school.
Joe Cunningham, CEO of the LOETB, informed the meeting they were waiting on instructions from the Department of Education and Skills on the matter. However, he assured the members it had been "pressed on the Department" that the provision of car parking at the school was a "key project" for the education and training board.
"The car park at the school is top of our list of projects," he said adding that he would "do something on" moving this project on with the Department.
