Durrow Swimmer Selected For Ireland

Alex Condron won the 100 mtr Breast Stroke All Ireland Schools Title at the Intermediate level, and was selected to Represent Ireland in the 100 mtr breast Stroke at the WISE Schools International in Dublin on March 26th. TT05231
ALEX Condron has been selected to represent Ireland in the WISE School Internationals which will be held on March 26th, between Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin.
It is a fantastic achievement for the young Durrow man and he is one of the very small group of Offaly people to achieve international recognition in swimming,
At the weekend the All Ireland Schools Swimming competition was held in Galway. The Durrow teenagher won the 100 mtr Breast Stroke All Ireland Schools Title at Intermediate level, and was selected to Represent Ireland in the 100 mtr breast Stroke at the WISE Schools International in Dublin on March 26th.
His brother Ryan put in an exceptional performance in the 100 mtr Breast Stroke and the 100 mtr Free Style in the Intermediate Level at the weekend.
To put the icing on the cake, Alex and Ryan Condron, Conor Byrne and Conor Condron won the 200 mtr Free Style Relay Intermediate All Ireland Schools Title and without a doubt has put Killina School and Offaly on the map regarding Swimming.
This was a huge achievement for the school and they are the first Offaly school to win All-Ireland medals in swimming.
