Heywood College 4-11.
Banagher College 2-9.

The Senior Ladies Football team bowed out of the Leinster Championship at the semi-final stage in Heywood College on Thursday last. Playing against a well drilled home side on the astro turf pitch, the Banagher girls put in a great second half but Heywood had laid the foundations in the opening half.
Mairéad Daly opened the scoring with a point and Aoife Dolan goaled from close range in the fourth minute to give Banagher a tonic start. However, Heywood soon struck back, with their full forward Sharon Kelly doing big damage, to lead 2-3 to 1-1 after 15 minutes. The home side registered a further 1-3 to lead 3-6 to 1-4 at half time. Banagher closed the half with points from Róisín Woods, Mairéad Daly and Kate Grogan.
Edel Flynn had been introduced midway through the first half and she opened the second half with a good point. Midway through the half, centre back Ciara McCormack was moved to centre forward in a bid to strengthen the forwards and she kicked 1-2 along with further points from Emma Corcoran and Mairéad Daly. Heywood however, equalled Banagher on the scoreboard in that half and maintained their halftime advantage to the end. Ann Daly was Banagher's best player on the day with Tara Dooley also trying hard between the posts.
Seven of this team will line out in the Junior Quarter final against Holy Family Newbridge in Banagher after Christmas.

U-15 Soccer: Banagher College 9 Castlepollard CC 1
Banagher made it three wins out of three in the league after a strong second half performance saw them overpower Castlepollard Community College in Tullamore. Playing against a strong wind, Banagher struggled at the start and even went behind after 15 minutes. This, however, was the wake-up call that they needed and a goal by Michael Healy settled the nerves before Oisin Kelly fired home to give Banagher a morale-boosting half-time lead. With the wind at their backs in the second half, they started to put the Castlepollard defence under severe pressure. Playing with real panache, It was no surprise that a ruthless Banagher attack put their opponents to the sword so convincingly. Goals flowed via Oisin Kelly's second of the day, Gianluca Perna (2), Shane Anthony Kelly (2) and Aaron Daly. Even captain Ronan Butler got in on the act with a spectacular effort direct from a free kick. The win all but assures the Banagher lads of a place in the final, with one game against Granard still to play.
