WHAT promises to be a very entertaining programme of songs and music has been lined up for this year's Tullamore Parish Annual Christmas Carol Service.

The carol service will take place in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore on Sunday, December 2 at 7pm.

As many as ten choirs from schools and the parish will be taking part and the event will conclude with a grand finale where all the choirs will join on the altar for a performance of Silent Night.

The programme for the evening includes – Children's Mass Choir: Away in a Manger, Baby Carol; Charleville National School Choir: Il Est Ne Le Divin Enfant, I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing; Scoil Eoin Pol: Night of Silence, On the Road to Bethlehem; Tullamore College Choir: Country Carol, In the Deep Mid Winter; St Philomena's National School: Somewhere Only We Know, Love Shone Down.

Ballinamere National School: Something in My Memory, When You Believe; Gael Scoil Choir: Ui Fada Uainn an Nollaig, Dio do Bheagha a Nai Anocht; Scoil Mhuire: Jingle Bells, A Million Dreams; Durrow National School: Maiden Most Gentle, Little Drummer Boy; St Colmcille's Church Choir: Calypso Carol, When a Child is Born, O Holy Night.

Tickets for the carol service are €10 (Under 14s free).
