A new Ferbane Women’s Group formed just last September are looking for new people to come on board and join them on Mondays and Fridays in Ferbane Heritage Centre from 10am to 12 noon.

The ladies have a great time getting together having a chat with a cup of tea and doing practical work as they natter away. Right now they are busy preparing for the forthcoming Christmas Market which will be held on December 8 in the Heritage Centre from 11am to 4pm.

Already the group have hosted and participated in the Happy Heart project, healthy eating, first aid course, and mental health walk in Lough Boora. They have also benefited greatly from their programmes with sewing with Sandra, crochet with Kathleen and home baking with Caroline.

And they have loads more ideas lined up for the new year including preparations for all big events such as Valentine's Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter etc. One big event that the group are delighted to have encouraged is the Ferbane Operation Transformation which will be coming up in January next year and they are really looking forward to that. The ladies have great praise for Declan Costello, Community Development Worker, who had encouraged and supported the formation of the group and he continues to work with them and help and facilitate them in their work. So if you have an hour or two to spare two days a week, head on down to Ferbane Heritage Centre where you will find a group of ladies having a chat and a cuppa as they work away. All are welcome.
