Pat Joe surprised with restored Honda 50

FERBANE’S 97-year-old Pat Joe Claffey had a welcome surprise recently when his family presented him with his beloved Honda 50 which had been fully restored by KC Motor Cycles Ltd in Tullamore.

Pat Joe, also known as Paddy, from Noggus, originally bought the Honda 50 in 1975 from Paddy Byrne in Daingean for use when he worked as an employee of Offaly County Council.

The vehicle has lain unused in Pat Joe’s shed for the past three decades but the family decided to have it restored and enlisted Kevin Casey of KC Motorcycles to carry out the work.

“The family asked me to get it back to its former glory,” Kevin told the Tribune this week.

The Honda was presented to a delighted Pat Joe on Friday last at KC Motor Cycles in Cloncollig.
