CALLING all bingo enthusiasts!

Are you missing out on your nightly bingo fix on Wednesdays?

Then you’re prayers have been answered as Ballycommon GAA club has filled a vacuum and will host weekly bingo sessions commencing on Wednesday night next, February 20 at 8pm.

A whopping €1,000 in prize money is promised each week at the bingo which will take place in Kilmurry Community Centre.

Ballycommon GAA Chairman, Ger Gannon, speaking to the Tribune at a special trial session of the bingo held with military like precision in Kilmurry last week, explained all funds raised will be used to develop facilities at their pitch.

’Facilities are pretty basic at the minute and really just consist of two dressing rooms,’ outlined Ger.

He said the GAA club’s committee and members had ambitious development plans in the pipeline for an outfit that have made great progress in this decade.

With a plentiful supply of young talent coming onto the scene, they won the Junior Football Championship in 2017 and were pipped in the Intermediate Football Championship semi-final last year.

One of their players, David Dempsey is developing into an Offaly senior regular and Ballycommon will be confident of challenging for the intermediate title in 2019.
