Coláiste Choilm was delighted to host the popular inter school sports day on Wednesday 20th March where students with disabilities from local primary schools came to the school for a fun day.

19 Transition Year students from the school volunteered to help with the delivery of the programme on the day. In preparation for the event, the boys completed an adapted physical activity training course. This course involved the boys visiting various primary schools around the Tullamore area on Monday 11th and Wednesday 13th March where they set up physical activities for children with disabilities.

The day itself was a great fun-filled one for the children and their teachers and Special Needs Assistants. Coláiste Choilm Transition Year students Luka Meyer and Darragh Drea said that this worthwhile initiative was a brilliant experience for and benefit to all the Transition Year students who volunteered their time as well as to the young boys and girls they worked with. The boys expressed their sincere thanks to Jean Brady who instructed the boys throughout their course.
