TradFest, Tullamore’s new traditional music festival, attracted hundreds of musicians and music fans to the county town last weekend.
Pubs and other venues around the town were brought to life at traditional music sessions throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Despite the inclement weather the inaugural festival was declared a major success and it is now hoped it will become an annual event.
Tommy Craven, chairman of the TradFest organising committee said: “Our ultimate goal is to create an annual TradFest for Tullamore which will grow over the years and lead to a sustained interest in the genre, and over the next few years, place the town firmly on the traditional Irish music map.
Mr Craven said the organising committee have been overwhelmed with the huge positivity that Tullamore TradFest had been received with.
Musician from all over Ireland, including some very well known names, travelled to the county town for the event.
