Leinster 10 mile medals for Offaly athletes

Athletes from Offaly had a very productive morning at the Leinster Championship 10 mile road race in Raheny, Dublin on Monday. It was a great day for Ferbane Athletic Club as three of their athletes featured prominently. Mick Fogarty was second in 54.35. Paul Buckley was sixth overalland first over 40 in 56.65 and Derek Nugent was ninth overall and second over 40 in 58.17.

Tullamore Harriers athletes also had a great day. In the team events they won the following prizes: Overall Senior Male 3rd: Mick O’Brien, Leonard Mooney and Glen FinlayO50 Male 1st: Eanna Gowran, Brendan Abbott and Liam Byrne.O35 Ladies 2nd: Elysia McCormack, Mags Grennan and Tracey Kinnarney.O50 Ladies 1st: Rita Daly, Martina Conlon and Mary Galvin.

There was also individual medals for:

Men

Mick O'Brien 2nd over 35; Leonard Mooney 3rd over 35; Eanna Gowran 3rd over 50; Glen Finlay 2nd over 45;

Ladies

Rita Daly 2nd over 50; Martina Conlon 2nd over 55.
